Scope
This project focused on improving Football and Basketball Scoreboards on the Event Page by enhancing clarity, usability, and real-time match engagement for users during live games.
Problem
The previous scoreboards were visually outdated and provided limited in-play information. Key match moments weren’t communicated effectively, and users often turned to external sources to access essential stats, creating friction during live betting.
Football
The previous scoreboard showed only the score and a small grid of stat icons, with no clear labels or context on what each number represented. The redesign adds a live match clock, team jerseys, alongside labeled in-play stats, like possession, shots on target, dangerous attacks, and an xGoals comparison, for a clearer read of momentum at a glance.
Basketball
The previous scoreboard displayed a basic quarter-by-quarter score breakdown with no labels distinguishing points from fouls. The redesign introduces team colors, a live quarter and time indicator, clearly labeled stats, like fouls, assists, and rebounds, alongside the quarter-by-quarter table, making it easier to follow each team's performance in real time.
Solution
The redesign delivers a cleaner, more structured scoreboard for both sports, with clearer visual hierarchy and stronger legibility. Football and Basketball each received sport-specific in-play stats and subtle animations for key moments, so users can follow the game without needing to look elsewhere.
Outcome
Users can now follow live matches directly within the app, with less need to check outside sources for basic stats. The clearer layout makes it faster to read the state of a game and act on it.
